Topic outline

  • General information

This course provides fundamental knowledge in the nature of atmospheric pollution, relative types, correlated effects, control principles and applications.

The interactive video conferencing-based tools are available in Microsoft Teams and Zoom Video Communications (screen share interactive face-to-face learning).

Lecture 02 Vertical structure, P, ρ, T, V interrelation and energy transfer processes Lesson

      Key issues:

      • Study of: natural concentration, the background atmosphere
      • Structure: pressure, density, and temperature with height
      • Pressure & density: concentrations of gases
      • Temperature: vertical distribution of gases absorb UV & IR
      • P, ρ, T interrelation: equation of state with V
      • Energy transfer processes: conduction, advection, radiation
      • Composition: spatially & temporally varying of gases
      • Main gases: sources & sinks, abundance, effect, pollution
