This course provides a comprehensive introduction to measurement and control engineering for technological processes. It covers the analysis and modelling of dynamic systems, process simulation, feedback control, PID and on/off controllers, actuators and control valves, digital and adaptive control, PLC-based logical control, and industrial computer control systems.
The course also introduces process instrumentation and measurement techniques, including sensors, transmitters, smart sensors, virtual instrumentation, and methods for measuring pressure, temperature, level, flow, and chemical composition. Emphasis is placed on understanding how measurement, modelling, control, and industrial information systems are integrated into complete technological process-control solutions.
