Workshop: Time Management for New PhD Students (EN)
čtvrtek, 10. září, 09.00 » 13.00
Globální událost
Doctoral studies bring a high degree of autonomy, new roles and sometimes unclear expectations that not everyone may be prepared for. This practically focused workshop helps participants navigate the reality of PhD studies and develop a sustainable working system for the long term.
The workshop focuses on the specifics of time management in an academic environment – working with uncertainty, independent planning without clearly defined tasks, balancing parallel roles (research, teaching, own study) and overcoming typical obstacles, such as procrastination. The workshop will also address setting boundaries in communication and preventing burnout.
Emphasis will be placed on practical activities: participants will learn to break down unclear tasks into specific steps, identify their optimal time for deep work and create their own realistic work plan for the first period of their doctoral studies.
Lecturer: Dr. Ing. Markéta Raková, career coach at UCT
This workshop is intended for PhD students entering their 1st year in September 2026 and will be held in English.
