Guided Tour of the Hvězda Summer Palace and Surrounding Game Reserve, Prague 6

We will take metro line A from the school and get off at Petřiny. On the way to Hvězda, we will stop in front of the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences, founded by Prof. Otto Wichterle, the inventor of nylon and soft contact lenses. From there, we will continue to the Libocká Gate and walk along an avenue of old trees to the Hvězda summer palace, where we will discuss its history.Depending on the weather, we will either visit the palace or continue to the Světluška well, which supplied Prague Castle with water as early as the 17th century. Then we will head to the White Mountain mound and finally return through the park towards the Ruzyně Gate, possibly stopping at one of the nearby ponds (e.g. Libocký Pond).
