Prof. Cremer je professorem chemie, biochemie a molekulární biologie na PennState Universitě v USA. Více než 10 let byl editorem časopisu Americké Chemické Společnosti (JACS). Je držitelem řady mezinárodních ocenění a do oblastí jeho vědeckého zájmu patří mimo jiné fyzikální a biofyziální chemie nebo nanofluidika v analytické chemii. Přednáška bude velmi zajímavé pro široké publikum a studenty. Přednáška bude v angličtině.
Annotation: Our research is lying at the crossroads of biological interfaces, nanomaterials, spectroscopy, and microfluidics. In this talk we take under focus aqueous biomacromolecular interfaces. By means of surface sensitive (nonlinear) spectroscopies and thermodynamic methods we explore behavior of ions and water in the vicinity of macromolecules. The interesting findings, connections, and rules are completed at the microscopic level by combination of experiments with theoretical approaches, such as atomistic simulations.
